Web Design & Front End Development

I build websites using handcoded semantic (X)Html and CSS (W3C / WAI), improving accessibility, naming conventions and workflow wherever possible. A 'pixel-perfect' designer with advanced skills in Photoshop, I have a forensic eye for detail, always considering usability and striving to communicate the brand I'm working with. I am passionate about perfection and conscientious about keeping standards high. If I see a video encoded with the wrong aspect ratio expect me to mention it! I have a background in graphic design and I'm comfortable following brand guidelines and making suggestions to improve UX / UI.

I use JQuery, flash, sprites, and will implement CSS3, Html5 and .png where appropriate.

I always build for compatibility with IE6 and use conditional comments (avoiding hacks!) for browser-specific stylesheets where necessary.

I have a working knowledge of Javascript, JQuery, PHP, Ruby on Rails and MySQL. I often edit developers' code.
